I often get asked about how I do so much… here’s how:
People often say to me “You get so much done” or “I wish I was like you”
The truth is, I’m actually fairly lazy… I’m not productive all of the time, I’m not productive even half of the time.
But when I am productive, I really push to make the most of my time, so that I don’t have to work all day.
So here are my key tips to getting things done fast.
1. Get really clear on what you need to do.
I always have a to-do list, and I make sure that the things on the list are broken down into tiny little steps. That means if I have a spare 5 min I can smash out a task… rather than spending that 5 min wandering around the internet.
2. Set a timer
I challenge myself to get things done by setting a timer. Got paperwork you don’t really want to do? Set yourself a timer for 20 min and see if you can get through it all before the timer goes off.
When I really have to get something done, I turn everything else off. Social media, email, phone – everything goes off. I also use Focus At Will, which is music designed to help you focus on what you are working on. I’m not an affiliate, just a big fan. I’ve been using it for 2 years now.
